Cooking for Inclusion

An empowering initiative by Ladies in the Family Foundation.

Cooking for Inclusion is an inclusive program targeted at black girls between the ages of 12-24. Join us for this 6-month program (monthly gatherings) where participants from diverse backgrounds will bond, learn, and grow through the joys of cooking cuisines from across the African and Caribbean diaspora.

In addition to cooking, participants will have an active role in planning and delivering activities, empowering them to shape their own journey. Themes of activities include basics of food photography, grocery shopping, visits to the farmers' market, food sampling, and budgeting.

We also provide access to vital resources, including mental health support, employment guidance, and various youth services, to build a strong social support system.

First Event

The first event will be held at Flavors restaurant, where the participants will have the opportunity to taste different African dishes and get familiar with the flavors. The restaurant  can accommodate 70 people and will be reserved exclusively for our event from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

During the first hour, parents will be required to stay and sign intake forms for their children.
