Present: Elder Abuse Awareness Event

Join us in a vital conversation about Elder Abuse within the Afro-Canadian community!

Unison Alberta, in partnership with Bridge to Oasis (BTO) Foundation, proudly introduces our Elder Abuse Awareness Program. This comprehensive initiative is dedicated to educating and empowering Afro-Canadian seniors and their caregivers on recognizing, addressing, and preventing Elder Abuse.

Program Overview:

Elder Abuse is a pressing concern that demands our attention. Our program aims to equip the community with the knowledge and resources needed to combat various forms of abuse, including financial, physical, emotional, and neglect. Through a series of engaging events, workshops, and educational resources, we strive to create a safe and informed environment for our seniors.

Key Objectives:

  • Education: Our program offers informative sessions to help seniors and caregivers understand the signs of Elder Abuse and how to respond effectively.
  • Empowerment: We empower seniors to assert their rights, stand against abuse, and access available support systems.
  • Prevention: By raising awareness, we work to prevent instances of Elder Abuse before they occur.
  • Resources: We provide a comprehensive toolkit of resources, contacts, and guides for seniors, caregivers, and community members.
